Welcome to the

First Dutch Osteoarthritis Research Day June 11, 2025

The Future of OA Research.. Team Up !

The Dutch OA Research Day will take place in Delft's best kept secret Hotel Arsenaal.

Hotel Arsenaal is a characteristic historical building with a lovely courtyard. Hotel Arsenaal is a perfect spot to learn about new insights, to discuss ideas and get inspired. Moreover to meet your friends and enlarge your network.

Let's team up for the future !

As osteoarthritis researchers, we often introduce our papers or other forms of dissemination with statements that emphasize the importance of our work. That is, how osteoarthritis is becoming the number one chronic disease, significantly impacting and disabling people’s lives. And of course, contributing to a better life for people with osteoarthritis is a key driver of our work, with the ultimate goal of making a real impact.

The Netherlands has a great ecosystem of osteoarthritis researchers, all working towards the same goal, using an impressive variety of methodological approaches. This diversity is essential, as osteoarthritis is a complex disease and—like a wicked problem—can only be understood and effectively treated when a multidisciplinary approach is embraced.

Why a National Research Day?

Like all of us, ReumaNederland recognizes this reality but has also observed that encounters between osteoarthritis researchers, where they can learn about each other’s work, mainly take place at international conferences. Therefore, we have taken the initiative to organize a National Research Day, with a threefold aim:

1. To highlight the multidisciplinary nature of osteoarthritis research in the Netherlands.

2. To provide young researchers with the opportunity to present themselves.

3. To strengthen the Dutch osteoarthritis research ecosystem, ensuring a greater impact on the lives of patients with osteoarthritis.

The Dutch Osteoarthritis Research Day is organized by
